The Quinault National Forest

  The Tree of Magic

This photo is one of the few that I am proud to have taken. Not because it is the most impressive piece of photography, but because when I snapped the shot I was hoping for an image that would express the mood of my middle grade manuscript at the time. Although I was pleased with this photo, my story has yet to be published!

The Olympic National Forest

Quinault, Washington

This photo of Willaby Creek in the Olympic National Forest, is a place that I have visited dozens of times. It is one of my very favorite places on earth. While walking amidst the tall timbers, life always seems to come into focus for me.

Snow in the Pacific Northwest

 The Magic of Snow

This photo was taken last year in Quinault, Washington. I wanted to feature a scene with snow so badly that I borrowed this from my file. Snow has a way of magically transforming even the most mundane vegetation  to a thing of beauty.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year in 2013!

A Special Place!

Willaby Creek - Washington State

    Willaby Creek

This idyllic creek feeds into Lake Quinault in The Olympic National Rain Forest of Washington State. The forest is a  marvelous place to hike, reflect, and relax. It inspired my first manuscript for children entitled: The Tale of Willaby Creek.
